Started this one as a project to knit on while watching tv or meeting up friends. A simple and easy piece. But it was also during this I got trouble with pain in my hands. My hand are better now, but I need to rest my hand from time to times and I can't knit hours and hours.

So I have also made a pair of thick wool socks to a friend. When I was in Umeå this summer I borrowed a bike to get around the city. And I borrowed it from my friends sister, so as a thank you, I knitted a pair of socks to her. And aspected she loved them. :-)

So, the year of 2014 has not been a great year - when it comes to knitting. During the summer months I didn't knit that much. A row here and there - but I didn't finish any projects. I did start some. But I only knitted couple of rows and than left it in a bag. Didn't had the inspiration to follow through.
But then Autumn arrived. And the need for some new hats. And I was home with a cold for a couple of days. And I started AND finshed a hat. And I started another one . And I finshed that one too. And I started yet another one. And that one was also finished within days.

So have you notice my love for stripes? 😉 I may have some knee high socks with stripes. In different colours. Gods very well to my blue jeans skirts, to my black skirts, to my dresses, to my pyjamas, well to everything.
Some of my knee high socks goes more than well to my hand knitted shawls. And my Dr Martens.
Fact: I haven't been knitting for weeks. Not. A. Single. Stitch. In. Two. Weeks.
I did not plan a project for the Olympics. I had a thought about to knit on some of my many UFOs. But when the Olympics started.. Well, I did not pick up my needles.
But I need to get back to knitting - so I turned to the books for inspiration. And I may have found a project - a pair of mittens. So I need some new yarn - of course.. 😉
A quick fix, knitting socks. A great way to spend TV and computer free evenings. I mixed left over yarn, blueish Opal Smoke with a skein of Fabel from Drops in a solid blue colour and striped it. Main colour is the solid for cuffs, heels and toes.

I took a trip to Örebro on Saturday. A 2 hour train ride, west of Stockholm. I had a lunch date with former school friends. Some of them, I have known for over 30 years.
We had an excellent lunch together, it's always fun to meet up and talk.
After I did some shopping. In a retro shop I stumbled over the classic Mon Amie china by Rörstand.

This week I practice "no TV" and this include no DVDs as well. So I spending my time with audiobooks and my knitting. Not bad at all. This is my third evening whitout TV. And I have almost one sock done. So I guess I have a pair when the weekend begins. :-)
Finally, we have winter! Last weekend the snow arrived. I like it! At the moment we have snowfall in my neighbourhood.
And finally wou can wear your winter gear. The winter coat, boots, gloves and socks. These are my latest winter socks.
