Finished my first FO for 2013 yesterday. A very fast project. Did the second one in just 1 1/2 hour.

my weekend

This weekend has been all about relaxing. I have a cold to get well from. So on Friday after work, I went to my local food store to stock supplies of comfort food, veggies and fruit to last over the weekend. Basically I have been living my weekend in the bed and in the sofa, with my laptop close by, the tv is set on winter sports (ski in all different forms - I'm in training for the Olympics ;-) ), and a knitting in my hand.

Earlier this week I bought a new laptop. I had been thinking of this for awhile and on Monday I bou´ght a Sony Vaio online and I had it in my hand on Wednesday evening. So my weekend has also been a lot about getting to know the new computer and install importent stuff like iTunes, Spotify & Photoshop. Let's say I'm very happy about my new computer!

I have finished one project this weekend - the Noro Kureyon Sock Shawl and I have also another finished project I haven't showed you yet. But I will not show them in this post, because I have the on the floor at the moment blocking. But next time! :-)

iphone 3g

I have been wanting a new phone for months now, and I have been bugging my (younger) co-workers for some ideas, and yesterday I bought myself an iPhone. And it feels great! I have already stored over 300 songs in the ipod..

Since I'm kicking off my holiday later this afternoon, the phone is a holiday gift to myself! My plans for this vacation? Well, I have some ideas, but nothing much planned! Just relax and enjoying the summer. I will try to blog more, and I have some knitting to show you. So next blog post will be about knitting. Alright?

I just had 2 days of learning Photoshop. And here are a colourful example of what you can do. Photoshop was not really new to me, I did go on course in 1999 to learn, but I needed to fresh up my skills. It amazing what you can do. Now I just need to buy and install the program in my computer!

In my work as an archivist I handle photo's everyday. I'm photo archivist. My main work is to make our big photo collection avalible on the internet, in a big database for you to browse.

It makes me happy, when I by chance, on Saturday evening saw the beginning of a fantastic BBC-series, about the french banker Albert Kahn and his amazing photo archive. The Wonderful World Of Albert Kahn. I was stunned to see these amazing photographs taken between 1908-1930, with scenes from over 50 countries, in colour! For those of you interested in photo's and can see Swedish televion and has the Kunskapskanalen, you can see the first episode again Friday 25, at 7 pm and the second episode at Saturday 26, at 10 pm (really bad hours both days, but you can always record it and see it later).

And have you Americans (and the rest of you) notice, that you can see The Library Of Congress photo's on Flickr? Over 3.000 photo's both in colour and black/white! So fun to look at!

Today I have actually been unpacking a couple of boxes left unpacked since my move to my new apartment in (late) August. Most of my stuff are in orders but there are some boxes left with things I really don't use, but I don't want to throw it away either. My childhood books, my dolls, my teddybears, my old LP:s (you know the vinyl thing before the CDs.... LPs from the late 70s and 80s - my teenage years; ABBA, Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, U2, Joan Jett, Spandau Ballet, Bryan Adams, Thompson Twins, Yazoo, Bronski Beat, The Communards, Duran Duran, Kim Wilde, Ratata, Orup, Simple Minds, Wham, George Michael, INXS among others). I have put away things that I don't need in my attic storage. My Christmas decorations for example.

I have also been cleaning my bathroom and my kitchen, and later on I will take on the bedroom too.. But at the moment I resting, drinking coffee and watching some TV.

a new camera

So, I went to the camera repair man today. (Actually he was a she, so it was a repair woman!) And I was right: It costs more to mend the camera than buy a new one. So I bought a new one today, on sale at Elgiganten. An Olympus X-760. So this is the first picture with my new camera. So I guess it will take a couple of days to get used to this one.

I started a new shawl the other night, while watching the second of the Lord of the Ring movies. The yarn for this shawl is a Swedish one, wool from Färgkraft, a blue-ish shade and it's absolutly fantastic. I love it! (It's the same you got from me Laura, but a diffrent shade.) And blue has always been a colour that I love.

Well, it's time for my beauty sleep now!

my new toy

I got myself a new toy to play with, a new mobile phone, a Nokia 6101. I have been looking for a new phone for ages and lately I had my eye's on this one and today I bought it.

I'm happy to put the old one, Nokia 3330, to rest. I had you for 5 years! And you where great, but it was time to end our affair.
