noro kureyon sock stole

This weeks second FO is knit in Noro Kureyon's sock yarn. I found the pattern at Ravelry (where else in these days? My queue is ridiculous long.).  A fast and easy knit, a perfect TV project. And last weekend when I nursed my cold, I had a lot of time in front of the telly to knit.

I promised you a finished project yesterday - and here it is. A grey, very airy shawl in Swedish wool from Solkustens spinneriverkstad. I had it on today and I got some good review's from my lovely co-workers.

my weekend

This weekend has been all about relaxing. I have a cold to get well from. So on Friday after work, I went to my local food store to stock supplies of comfort food, veggies and fruit to last over the weekend. Basically I have been living my weekend in the bed and in the sofa, with my laptop close by, the tv is set on winter sports (ski in all different forms - I'm in training for the Olympics ;-) ), and a knitting in my hand.

Earlier this week I bought a new laptop. I had been thinking of this for awhile and on Monday I bou´ght a Sony Vaio online and I had it in my hand on Wednesday evening. So my weekend has also been a lot about getting to know the new computer and install importent stuff like iTunes, Spotify & Photoshop. Let's say I'm very happy about my new computer!

I have finished one project this weekend - the Noro Kureyon Sock Shawl and I have also another finished project I haven't showed you yet. But I will not show them in this post, because I have the on the floor at the moment blocking. But next time! :-)

kureyon striped scarf

Woke up this morning to another cold day. The winter will never end this year it seems. I saw on the news, 20 minutes ago, that there will be more snow later this week..

Anyway, the scarf is done. And it's so beautiful, I want one for myself!! So I guess I need to buy more yarn.. Maybe I can find a hank or two in my stash, but I need 4 different colour for this one. And this project is an easy knit, mindless knitting in front of the TV or at coffee breaks at work!

The winter has a firm grip over this city at the moment. Snow and a hefty winds makes it really cold! Perhaps this scarf I'm making, will debut this winter already and not next winter? I'm guessing I will finish it in couple of days.

And I will make on for me later on! But perhaps in Silk garden instead of Kureyon?

Started this yesterday evening, while watching TV. An easy and mindless knitting. Just what I need for the moment. This item, a kureyon scarf, is not for me (sadley, because I love it. Note to self: Knit this scarf for me!!) I'm making this one to a friend, who is turning 40 (well, there are a few this year!) during the spring. It's a wintery scarf, but the winter will come again, be sure of that.

Since I have no finished knitting to show yet, I give you a finished knitted scarf made by my friend and co-worker Stina. She took up knitting in November and since then she has made 5-6 scarfs. This is the latest:

A long scarf in vibrant pink & black, in Drops Eskimo.

Perhaps I should make something easy and get some rest from the Monster from Hell? I will check out my stash tonight.. I need to boost my self confidence!!

Where did this weekend go?!? It was just Friday night and now it's Sunday night... This weekend I have been treating myself with good food, long baths, long walks, knitting, some TV, dvd:s and good music. But the weekends are to short!!

I got me some new books yesterday. Wrap Style  by Pam Allen/Ann Budd and a cook book by Nigella Lawson "Feast. Food that celebrates life".

Two good books. I found several patterns I enjoyed in Wrap style and also some recipie's to try from the Nigella book.  Easter is coming up and she had some nice Easter ideas I will try.

I have finished sock number one for Albin. And I have started on the second sock.  I have also been knitting on the Old Shale this weekend, but this morning - to my horror- I discovered,  I somehow, made some row revesed than the rest, just in the beginning... Yes indeed, so I have to frog it and start all over again... I hate that! I'm angry with myself, I didn't discovered this earlier. The Old Shale is for me, but I want it to be correct..

At the moment I'm watching a classic 80's movie. "Can't Buy Me Love" From the lovely year of 1987. With a very young McDreamy - Patrick Dempsey. In 1987 I though he was very cute, but today I think he is even better looking. He has grown into his looks in very nice  way.
