So, I hope you had a great Christmas! I did! Sadly no white Christmas. And no chilly weather at all- just rain, rain and rain. Basically indoor weather.
So I have been reading and watching dvd:s. And knitting of course. On boxing day I started a pair a thick woollen socks. I guess I will finish them later tonight.
On Christmas eve I also started another baby vest to one of the new babies of 2013.
But I have also been knitting on some UFOs - perhaps some will be finished during this holiday. 😃

Tidig morgon, är ledig men har jourtelefonen på min lott denna jul med många klämdagar. Behöver inte vara på jobbet men ska vara tillgänglig på telefonen 9-11. Men antar att folk har annat för sig idag för inte har det ringt till arkivet i allafall.
Morgonfika på Vetekatten, snart ska jag slänga mig ut i julhandeln. Det mesta har jag klart men behöver komplettera med småsaker. Som snittamaryllis. Ingen jul utan snittamaryllis eller amaryllis överhuvudtaget. Har tre som blommar hemma, men det finns alltid plats för fler.
Sometimes you meet new people and instant like each other. Emma is one of those people. She started to work with me (us) after the Easter weekend. So when she left work yesterday, to start over at another archive after New Year, I gave her this shawl. The colours are her favorites and she has been admirering all of mine stripey shawls and so she got her own.

This time I made a simple lace edge. And I'm very pleased with the end result. So pleased I started to knit one to myself and I will use this edge ending again.
In mid May 2013, the cute Jack was born. And I knitted a vest for him. Found the pattern on Ravelry and it's from Drops.

Took a selfie on my way to the office Christmas party, yesterday. Green & black was the colours I wore.
Black dress and green shoes, socks and a shawl. And a gray coat. And the party was great. Now my Christmas holiday has begun. Will be back at work January 7, 2014.
My lovely friend Erica released a book (in Swedish) with some amazing patterns in October. "Varmt & stickat. Vantar, mössor, sockor, sjalar, tröjor och lite spets" .
An amazing book. So far I have knitted 2 items from the book. First, a pair of lace wristwarmers, Hästskomuddar. A fast and easy project.

Sometimes while you knit, you need some quick fix. Something you can knit up in a night or two (or three). Hats and wristwarmers are those items for me. I needed a new hat and I look in my yarn stash to find a suitable yarn -often malabrigo - and familiar pattern. And then you have a hat.

The dark season has arrived and so far we had almost no snow at all here in Stockholm. So it's has been dark and gray. My remedy? Lights, lights, lights and lights! Candles and electrics.

In early June I took off and landed in Östersund, Jämtland. A long weekend trip to meet up with loving friends. Since my last trip to Östersund, my friends have moved out of the city and bought a house circa 45 minutes west of the city. A small village next to the Faxe river.
I had a great time. Sunshine, good food, loving company. And some knitting. And teaching knitting to the kids. The mother phoned my a day before and said her 5 year old demanding me to teach her to knit. So I packed some yarn and needles.
When her daddy and I picked her up at the daycare center, the first day, she gave me a huge hug and said: Will you teach me to knit? So, when we came home I cast on and she looked on and I showed her to knit stitches one by one. We continued this over the days and the result? Well, she made som stitches but also lost a few. But she was happy anyway..
But then her older brother (he's 7) also wanted to learn. And he really got the hang of it. So now he is knitting his first scarf. My work is done! :-)
