No, we have no snow here! This is fake snow, the kind you use on movie sets. This picture is taken today at the Filmstadens day - the old movie city just around the corner from my flat.

Every year we celebrate the Movie City day, and this year it's today. They are showing old movies filmed in the area, but also new realeses of Swedish movies. A special treat today was Laurel & Hardy though. But it was sold out, and I didn't get any tickets.. :-(

The spring has finally arrived in Stockholm. And the blooming has started. The Japanese Cherry Trees in Kungsträdgården is in full bloom. And the rest of the trees in Stockholm, is not far behind. The pollen season has begun, but so far, I'm feeling just fine.

I spent some of my lunch outdoors, just enjoying the sun. It was hard to go inside again. I'm abount to leave my desk, to go down, under ground in the record hall and do some work. Sounds great?!? But I will leave work earlier today..

Stockholm City hall's architect was Ragnar Östberg, the building was inaugurated on Midsummer’s Eve in 1923. The City Hall Tower topped by three crowns, the Swedish national coat of arms, rises 106 meters above the edifice.

City Hall’s largest banquet room is the Blue Hall. Original plans called for the bricks in the hall to be painted blue but the architect had a last-minute change of heart and chose to keep the natural red color of the bricks instead. At this point however the name Blue Hall was so firmly established that it was too late to change, so the name remained despite the fact that the hall isn’t blue at all. The Blue Hall houses one of Northern Europe’s largest organs which has some 10 000 pipes and 138 stops. The Blue Hall is probably best known as the venue for the world-famous Nobel Banquet which takes place on December 10 every year. Following the Nobel Prize ceremony at Stockholm’s Concert Hall some 1,300 guests make their way to City Hall for the sumptuous banquet.

If you are in Stockholm, the City Hall is worth a visit.

No sun at all yesterday, not in my part of the town anyway. But no rain either. I was out walking for several hours and watch the blooming gardens (and the architectureof the houses) around my neighbourhood. Apple trees, Cherry trees, Pear trees, Chestnut trees, Plum trees, Elderberry trees, Lilacs, Laburnum trees, Hawthorn any many, many more trees I don't know the name of. This couple of weeks in May are truely colourful.

At the moment it's still cloudy here, but the clouds are not grey. Perhaps the sun is coming later. I have actually no plans for today... and that feels good. I will now continue my breakfast.
