So, finally, here is my report from my trip to Umeå last weekend. When I landed on Umeå Airport early Friday morning, the mercury was low, - 25 C/-13F - and we had a clear blue sky, but during the day it got "warmer" to -12 C/10 F and it started to snow - and when we walked home from the pub late Friday night we had a small snow blizzard to get by. But I didn't mind the snow, it was knid of fun walking home in that weather.
In Umeå I stayed at the home of one of my best friends, Ace and her lovely hubby Richard. I have known Ace for years (actually since 1988). And it's always a pleasure to meet her, and we always has lot of fun together. This weekend was her birthday weekend, so I brought her a package of lucuoius bath bombs from Lush and those blue Opal socks I made a couple of weeks ago. The birthday kid became very happy over the gift!
Umeå is my old "home town". I lived here between 1988 to 1993, so I really don't have to make all those tourist things. So on Friday afternoon we took the bus down town to just chill and relax and do some shopping. We had lunch at Catarina's and then worked us down the shopping street. We actually didn't buy anything this day, just looking. We meet up with Jenny and Emma at Illy's - situatued at the University camp - for a coffee and after that we walked to the Pub - Rött, near the Univerisity and meet up with Richard, Peter, Lena, Gunnar and Henrik to celebrate Ace's birthday. We had a great time, chatting, eating and drinking. And during our stay at Rött the snow blizzard hit Umeå. So when we got home we were looking like Frosty, the snow man.
On Saturday we where back down town, and this time we actually did some shopping. I found me two pair of shoes - both on sale, a pair of flat Merrell shoes at Sko centrum and a pair of heels -Chilli, on DNA. And I also bought me a regular black skirt on sale at Indiska too. And Ace found a couple of t-shirts on H&M and two pair of shoes on DNA. We were quit happy when we had coffee at NK and ate their (fantastic) Lemon Meringue Pie - a must at NK!
Saturday night we made a fantastic dinner at home, and Ace's sister joined us. And it was great to see B and she told me she has her last chemo today! Yeay!! And so far, everything looks good!!
On Sunday it was time to fly home again, but I will see Ace and Richard very soon. They will visit me during the Easter!
