my stash of leftover alpaca never seems to run out

I have started my 3rd shawl from the stash of leftover alpaca. So far I'm using all the blue colours I have. And yes, it's stripey. And goes very well to knit in front of the TV.

So, time to knit and watch West Wing!

tv-series (on dvd:s) & knitting

Mostly of my knitting happens in my sofa in front of the TV watching tv-series, some "live" and some via DVD:s. This autumn I have been watching 3 TV series on DVD.

1) November 3rd is the premiere of the 3rd series of Downton Abbey on Swedish SVT1 - so I have been watching 2 episodes each Saturday morning to recap, since September 8,  of seasons 1 & 2. I have 2 episodes left to see - last episode of season 2 and the Christmas special. So that's next Saturday!I have of course seen these series before on TV, but I wanted to recap before the 3rd series begun.

2) The second series I have been watching is The West Wing. Late Friday evening I ended series 1 and want to start series 2. :-) Of course I saw this series on TV and I still think it's one of the best series! And I really like to watch a TV series on DVD and see 3-4 ep at a time.

The West Wing is called Vita Huset in Sweden

3) The third TV series that I have watched recently is the BBC drama Cranford. Set in 1840s it's a good old british costume drama.This one I'd missed on TV - but saw 2 ep at a friends house and wanted more!

Next up? Continue to watch West Wing. But there are plenty of TV series on DVD waiting to been seen! On my waiting list I have the 3rd series of The House of Eliott, season 5 & 6 of the Sopranos.

On Friday I was at the annual Craft fair and I came home with 3 hanks of Koigu + a pattern of half mittens. So on Saturday I began knit.

Koigu is lovely. The patterns is easy, so this is one of my new TV/DVD knitting project.

Did this while watching an episode of Homeland (season 2). One of the series I follow this season.

During the Olympics I also started on Shetland Triangle Lace Shawl the by Evelyn A. Clark , in a Cobweb / 1 ply Alpaca. This knit is taking it's time, but I love the pattern. And I think it's gonna be beautiful when it's finish.

But this is not a project to knit on while watching TV/DVD, simply because I need to have my reading glasses on to see what I'm doing. Basically my reading glasses have become my knitting glasses. So that's why this is a slow knit.

basic woman's mittens

When I turned 40 I got this set of yarn and a mitten pattern from a dear friend and a former colleauge. She bought this set on a trip to Canada, in Unionsville, Ontario.So finally I knitted these.

pink/purple shawl

I do knit, infact I have a couple of finished objects to show you. During the summer i knitted on a big shawl. A simple design in stripes - my favorite design. Bought the yarn last year during a trip to Mariefred with my knitting group.

This week I managed to take som photo's of it with a colleague as a model.
