I hade a wonderful time in Glasgow/Edinburgh. This time I travelled with my friend and fellow knitter, Carin. The main reason for this trip was to celebrate Carin's 40th b-day. And we celebrated in style. On the big day we had afternoon tea at Willow Tea rooms.
afternoon tea, the willow tea room style
This was a great way to celebrate. We had a table in the Room Deluxe and it was not a busy day at the Willow, so we basically had the room to ourself.
After this mega meal - we started our yarn tour of Glasgow. We took the tube to Hillhead and walked to Great Western Road and the store The Life Craft. Here I bought some sock yarn - Colorimetry Swoony sock.
The second store we visited was the Yarn Cake on Queen Margaret Drive. We had learned on Ravelry there was a knitting café this evening, so we wanted to attend. And we did. It was a really lovely evening meeting some great knitting ladies.
Here I bought some Shilasdair yarn and a hank of 800 meters of lace weight yarn from Abstract Cat.
Talk about perfect trip! Afternoon Tea and yarn... drool...

It all looks so wonderful! One day, I'll make it to Scotland and Ireland. For now, I have to see the rest of Canada.
Oh, and happy birthday to Carin!
