My first visit to Glasgow was in May 1992 and I fell in love with the city at the first look. Since then I have been in town numerous times. Last time was in november 2004, so it was time to make another visit. I usual stay at the Victorian House on Renfrew street, and this time was no different. The hotel is situated in the city centre, a block away from Sauchiehall Street and Glasgow School of Art is just down the road.
I arrived in the afternoon, basically throwed in my bags in my hotel room and ran down to the step hill to get in touch with Glasgow. I started of with a tea at Willow tea rooms at Suchiehall Street. A lovely place!

Second day was spent in the area of the University of Glasgow and the Kelvingrove Museum.Kelvingrove is one of my favorite museum in the world. You can find almost everything here. This was my first visit since the restoration of the museum and it was even better now.
I walked around for hours checking out the Creatures of the Past, Ancient Egypt, Glasgow Stories, Scotland’s Wildlife, Scottish Art, Expression, Looking at Art, Mackintosh and the Glasgow Style, and Looking at Design, Dutch Art, Italian Art, French Art. Like British Museum you can stay for days and have a great time.

Around the corner from Kelvingrove, you have the University of Glasgow, founded in 1451 and are the fourth oldest university in the United Kingdom .

And on campus you have another great museum situated, the Hunterian Art Gallery. Here you can find a great Mackintosh exhibition- they have built up the Mackintosh/MacDonald home. I didn't vis tit HAG this time just walked by, but this museum is really worth it's money (most museums in Glasgow has free admission, this is not one of those...)

At HAG you can also see The Whistler Collection, 19th century artist James McNeill Whistler's art. A great collection and last time I visited Whistler's Motherwas on display - a loan from the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
