Most of those who know me, knows I'm not a very fond of hiking, nature and animals. In fact, my idea of nature is well groomed city garden / palace garden. I'm a city girl through and through. Don't get me wrong, I love to spend a weekend or a week in the country side, relaxing, reading a good book. But a walk in the forrest is not for walk. I get swollen eyes and runny nose of most animals, and I don't understand the need to walk in the nature. What's up with that?!? I can almost guarantee, you will never see a post on this blog, me nature hiking! City walks are my thing! ;-) My holiday often goes to a big cities around Europe (so far!).

Today we had our annoual spring trip at work. Last year we visited Uppsala, this year Ängsö National Park, and now you get my beginning of this post... Yepp, 3 hours on a remote island in the Stockholm archipelago, with mosqito's (who can't get enough of my blood, apparentally, my blood is the yummiest around.. I have lots of bites on my ankles.. Another reason to not love nature!), flies and other unnamed beasts.
Most of my co-workers are these nature loving people, and when this Ängsö suggestion came up, everybody said YES - a great idea. So this morning we meet up at Strömkajen to board M/S Sjöbris. The boat trip to Ängsö took 2 hours, two hours spending knitting and talking.
At Ängsö, a forrest ranger met us, and he took us on walk around the island. The Ängsö National Park is one of the oldest in Europe, founded 1909. It's a small island, situated between Norrtälje and Vaxholm. Two people lives on this island - the two forrest rangers. As soon we began to walk in the bush, I got attacked by the beasts.. One positve thing though - my allergy season is over, but some of my co-workers had a hell due to grass pollen.
The tour took an hour anda half and after, we had our lunch. We brough our own, and I had a greek salad. I enjoyd the day - really I did, but it was nice to get back to the city again. So now I need to tend my very sore ankles..
