Here is the proof I finished the backside of Iris Argyle Slipover. I struggle with the colour work at the moment on the frontside. I'm looking forward to the day she can wear it. Since the little one is kind of chubby, she will problably wear it after the summer..

I've finished one knitting, the birthday present. But I can't show you yet. You have to wait 1 1/2 months to see it.

Now it's time for some work!

the battle of europe is 12 days away

The Swedish betting company Oddset, has done an ad for Euro08, with the Swedish national football team and with the head coach Lars Lagerbäck and the chairman of the Swedish FA, Lars-Åke Lagrell. I think it's funny. Tonight the team plays a pre-game against Slovenia, and of course I'm watching it. Unleash Hell.

a slow weekend

So the summer is back! Heavenly! At least we had great weather during the weekend. Hopefully the nice weather continues.

I've had a really nice weekend, enjoying lots of time on my balcony with good books, good food (the photo is showing my Friday dinner - a green salad with avocado and halloumi) and several knitting projects. I have started 2 new projects this weekend. I cast on for the shawl to Inga-Britt and I started a birthday project for Mrs Doc. None of these projects is in a hurry, so I can take it slow and knit a couple of rows here and there. I have also started on the front side of Iris' Argyle Slipover.

Since Friday I'm also house sitting my next door neighbours apartment, miss I.K. left early Friday morning to go up north to her summer house. She will be back in 4 weeks.

I have start to plan my summer. My holiday kicks in in August, but I planing small trips in late June or early July. ACE and her hubby has taking over a family house in Norrbotten, and I'm planing to visit. Not sure when, but probably a weekend in July. Perhaps I will spend the first weekend i July in Göteborg, as a babysitter, for Georg and Iris while Mr & Mrs Doc attend a Bruce Springsteen concert. For August I have a Wedding reception to attend, but I haven't got the date yet. August will be mostly spent in my neighbourhood. And I have London in early September. Your summer plans? Any trips booked?

loveliness

I came home with a bag of loveliness today. Lots of alpaca, 200 grams of Drops Alpaca in a water blue colour and a cone of 250 grams of Indiecita Alpaca from Naturgarn, also in a blue colour. All from the lovely yarn store, Marias garn. (If you are in Stockholm, this is store you have to visit!)

The drops alpaca will become a shawl to Inga-Britt, a gift from me when she ends her work life in September and enter the life as a Golden Girl. She chosed the colour herself. And I think it will be great on her.

The Indiecita yarn will also become a shawl, but to myself. I'm thinking of Candle Flame. I have been looking for shawl pattern for weeks and I queued a lot of nice patterns on Ravelry. But Candle Flame has been in my mind for years actually, so I think it's time for that one now.

At the moment I have only one project on the needles. The Argyle Slipover for Iris. This project has been tucked away since my Göteborg trip, due to other fast and small knits. I'm making this slipover/vest in the size for a one-year-old, and Iris is still only 5 months, so I have the time..

But I need to buy some yarn for some upcoming projects so tomorrow I will visit Marias garn, with a co-worker, to hopefully find what we need.

And I really should be visiting Wincent for some Rowan Kid Classic, for an upcoming project. Another baby girl has arrived. Lovisa was born April 30th, and I think she needs something knitted.

freezing cold

Where did the summer/spring go? At the moment is very cold here. Last weekend we had around +26 C / 78 F, and today +5 C /41 F - I wore my noro mittens and a rowan kid classic hat outside today. And I had to sit outdoors to watch a baseball game - well, not had to, I watch the game because I wanted to, but it was not a great day for baseball. It was even raining when the game started.

The Swedish Baseball Leauge has started the season, and this was the first home game for my team Sundbyberg Heat against Tranås. Baseball is not a big sport in Sweden, not many teams and no big spectator sport. But I have been to a couple of games before and I know the basic rules by now. And I think it's kind of fun to learn a new sport. We have a similar game in Sweden called Brännboll, but no professional leauge, but most Swedes has played Brännboll in school and with friends. In school we also played the Finnish version, Boboll - Pesäpallo.

Baseball- not a big spectator sport in Sweden. We were perhaps, 25 people, who saw the game.

Heat won the game with 7-2. Looking forward to the next game in sunshine!!

A quick and stash busting project is done, my pink Calorimetry is finished. All I need to do is to buy a button. I loved to knit this one. And I'm all ready thinking to do one for me and perhaps one for a birthday girl later this summer, since this pink one is not for me.

another project on the needles

I started a another project last night. I was in a mood for some pink. Earlier yesterday, I queued Calorimetry (from Knitty.com, winter 2006 issue), on Ravelry, and suddenly I realised I had the yarn and I know one, who would love this in pink. And since she doesn't need this head piece anytime soon, I have no hurry to get this one finished. The future owner, saw this pattern at work today and she liked what she saw and talked about a pink one and she has no idea I'm making a pink one for her.

The socks I'm making for Alex is soon finished, I'm about to start on the toes on the second one. She will get them on Thursday when she makes her last day at work. It's always sad when your co-worker has to leave, and in this case, go back to be unemployed. It's sucks, big time!! I wish she could stay, but we don't have the money, at the moment, anyway.

After a week with lovely summer weather, we're back to normal spring weather. Hoping for the warmthto return soon.  It was really nice to have breakfast at the balcony this weekend, looking forward to more balcony breakfasts (and lunches and dinners!).
