First, I have a new tiny friend. January 1st, Doc and her hubby Mr T became proud parents and Georg became a big brother, to a healthy baby girl. She was born around 2 am, she was 49 centimeters long and her weight was 3500 grams. The new born is yet unnamed, but the parents has a couple of choice's to choose from. Doc is still at the hospital though, she's got an infection after the c-section, but is now feeling much better than 24 hours ago. I spoke to her on the phone earlier today and she was happy but tired! Congrats! Can't wait to meet the little one and the rest of the family!!
Second, I can tell you that my poor neighbour is released from the hospital, she came home Tuesday evening. But she is staying at her mothers for a while for some TLC.
Third, my December reading list are as follows:
* The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly. This is not a Harry Borsch crime story and it's not good as a Harry Borsch story, but it's ain't bad, not just Harry Borsch.
* Sommarbarn by Katerina Janouch. Miss Janouch was born in Prag, and the family fled from Czechoslovakia to Sweden early 70s and this is the story about this journey. But the story could not capture me. Sorry, I didn't like it.
* Livets aviga och räta (The Friday Night Knitting Club) by Kate Jacobs. A book of a group of women in New York and a yarn store. Love, broken hearts, lovely written. I liked this one very much! If you haven't read it, do so!
* Madame Terror by Jan Guillou. This is a story set in a russian made submarine, now a Palestinian sub. The book featuring fictional spy Carl Hamilton. It is a thriller novel about the relations between the US and the Arab world. But unlike other thriller novelists such as Tom Clancy, this novel is written from the Arabs' point of view, specifically the Palestinians. Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney gets bashed in this book. I must admit I loved this book.
Between 1986-1996 Guillou wrote a series about featuring fictional spy Carl Hamilton, a Swedish James Bond. And I lovedthis series.. And it was nice to yet again, read a book with Carl Hamilton in it. He is not the main story in this book, but the makes things happen. I haven't read these books in ages, but after Madame Terror I started to re-read the first book again - Coq Rouge.
I can tell you I have 5 book going on at the moment - maybe I can end them this month. How many book can you read at the same time?
